My Personal Recommendations
During our trip to the Lofoten Islands, we had the chance to experience some unforgettable places and activities that I can wholeheartedly recommend:
Accommodation: We stayed at Skårungen – Hotel, Cabins and Camping, which offered beautiful views and a cozy atmosphere. It was the perfect base for exploring the islands.
Car Rental: We drove our own camper from Europe, but if you’re flying in, I highly recommend booking with Discovercars for flexible and reliable rental options.
Midnight Sun: One of our most magical moments was watching the midnight sun at Uttakleiv Beach – an experience you’ll never forget.
Boat Excursion: We joined a Sea Eagle Safari and Trollfjord cruise with Lofoten Explorer. It was thrilling to see the majestic eagles so close. If you wish, you can also choose Brim’s hybrid-electric boat, which was specially built for this purpose.
Dining: Our favorite place to eat was Anita’s Seafood, where the fish burgers are a must-try!
Hiking: Of all the hikes, our favorite was Mannen – a trail with panoramic views that perfectly captures the beauty of Lofoten. Detailed tour description coming soon on the website.
- Most Interesting Cultural Experience: A visit to the Lofotr Viking Museum is a must if you’d like to dive into the fascinating history of the Vikings in the Arctic.
More Experiences to Consider
If you have extra time, here are a few activities that were on our list but we didn’t manage to fit in:
Magic Ice Bar in Svolvær – Plan your visit
Northern Lights (best in winter) – Check availability
Kayaking among the fjords – Explore options
Whale watching – Reserve your spot
Sami culture and reindeer experiences – Learn more
