1. Giardini di Augusto (Gardens of Augustus)

Perched on the island’s southeastern side, these beautifully landscaped botanical gardens offer panoramic views over the Faraglioni rocks, the Marina Piccola bay, and Mount Solaro.
Created by the German industrialist Friedrich Alfred Krupp in the early 1900s, this peaceful oasis is the perfect place to take a break from the crowds and soak in Capri’s stunning scenery.

2. Via Krupp

One of Capri’s most iconic walking paths, Via Krupp zigzags dramatically down the cliffs from the Gardens of Augustus to the Marina Piccola harbor. Built by the German tycoon Alfred Krupp, this winding stone road is an architectural masterpiece – and a photographer’s dream. After being closed for several years, the path reopened in 2023, offering visitors one of the most scenic walks on the island.

3. Faraglioni Rocks

Capri’s famous trio of sea stacks – Saetta, Stella, and Scopolo – rise dramatically from the turquoise sea. Each rock has its own character, and together they create one of Italy’s most photographed coastal views.
The best way to admire them? From the water. Most boat tours around the island sail right beneath the middle arch.
Book your Capri boat tour and pass through the iconic Faraglioni!

4. Marina Grande

Capri’s main harbor, Marina Grande, is where all ferries and hydrofoils arrive. It’s always buzzing with life – colorful boats, waterfront cafés, and travelers coming and going.
From here, you can take the funicular up to Capri Town or catch a bus to Anacapri. There’s also a small public beach, great for a quick swim before or after exploring the island.

5. Arco Naturale

Hidden on Capri’s eastern coast, the Arco Naturale is a natural limestone arch that dates back to the Paleolithic age. Once part of a cave system, it was shaped by wind and sea erosion into the impressive 18-meter-high arch we see today.
From here, you’ll enjoy stunning views across the Sorrento Peninsula and the surrounding sea – a perfect reward after a short hike.

6. Villa San Michele

The most famous sight in Anacapri, Villa San Michele was built by Swedish physician Axel Munthe on the site of an ancient Roman villa. The house and gardens are filled with classical sculptures and antiquities, including the legendary Egyptian sphinx said to grant wishes.
But what truly makes this place special is the breathtaking view from its terrace overlooking the Bay of Naples.
Entrance: €12
Visit the official Villa San Michele website

7. Punta Carena Lighthouse (Il Faro)

Located about 3 km southwest of Anacapri, this lighthouse has been operating since 1867 and remains one of Italy’s most powerful beacons. Locals often refer to this rocky cove simply as “Il Faro,” and it’s a favorite spot to swim and watch the sunset.
There’s no sandy beach here – just crystal-clear water and dramatic rocks. Bring your towel, dive in, and enjoy a true island experience.

8. Marina Piccola

Facing the Faraglioni, Marina Piccola is one of Capri’s most charming beach areas. Small, lively, and surrounded by cliffs, it’s ideal for a swim or a long afternoon by the sea.
You can reach it by bus from the Piazzetta or on foot via Via Mulo, a scenic staircase leading down from the town center.
Tip: Get here early in the morning for fewer crowds and the best sunlight.

9. Anacapri

Perched on the western side of the island, Anacapri has a completely different vibe from Capri Town. It’s quieter, more authentic, and surrounded by beautiful nature.
Wander through its whitewashed streets, visit artisan shops, or take the chairlift up to Monte Solaro for jaw-dropping views. Accommodation here is also more affordable, making it a great base for your stay.

Check the bus schedules here to Anacapri.

10. Monte Solaro

At 589 meters, Monte Solaro is the highest point on the island – and the best place to enjoy Capri’s panoramic views. From the top, you can see the entire Bay of Naples, the Amalfi Coast, and even Calabria on a clear day. You can reach the summit:

  • By chairlift from Piazza Vittoria (Anacapri) – 12 minutes. Visit the official chairlift website.

  • On foot via a well-marked trail that takes about an hour.
Either way, the view from the top is absolutely worth it.

11. Grotta Azzurra (Blue Grotto)

The Blue Grotto is Capri’s most famous natural wonder – a glowing sea cave illuminated by dazzling blue light. Sunlight passes through an underwater opening, creating a surreal, electric-blue reflection inside the cavern. Access is only possible by small rowboats, and entry depends on sea conditions, so patience is required. But once inside, the magical glow makes it all worthwhile.
Join a boat tour that includes the Blue Grotto for priority access and no waiting lines.

12. Piazzetta (Piazza Umberto I)

Known as “the heart of Capri”, the Piazzetta is where everything happens. Lined with cafés, restaurants, and pastel-colored buildings, it’s the perfect spot for people-watching.
Come here early in the morning to see locals start their day over a quick espresso, or in the evening when the atmosphere turns lively and glamorous.
Don’t miss the Torre dell’Orologio, Capri’s charming old clock tower that chimes every fifteen minutes.
